TOO FAR BUT NOT GONE (2)

Image
Hello Fam,  In the previous post, I made mention that recognizing Jesus had already forgiven me was the first step to my restoration. In this post, I’ll be sharing what is helping me on my journey to constant victory. To start with, when a believer falls into sin, it is a call for that Christian to check his/her secret place and pay attention to the Holy Spirit pruning…He (Holy Spirit) want you to put that desire in check because making the same mistake another time can put in a greater trouble, probably without remedy . Let's get the ball rolling ✌️ 1.Recognizing I am by myself weak, and I need His strength. Do not at any point of your journey feel you are self-sufficient as that itself is the beginning of downfall. 2. Be unapologetic in your stance and principle as a Christian. Have your own values and stand by them. Don’t try to live a double-standard life. Stand for the truth you believe anywhere, anytime and to anybody. For example, I remember giving warning to anyone that sen

TOO FAR BUT NOT GONE (1)

Hello Fam, Eku one thousand and one years😉...I've missed this space alot. Hmm! God help me in this consistency journey 🥺 I had written this piece since the end of November, 2021...it just found it way out of my diary today. It was a conversation with a friend.  'For though the righteous man falls 7 times, he shall rise again…' ‘For there is hope for a tree, if it be cut down, that it will sprout again, and its new shoots will not fail. Its root may grow old in the ground and its stump die in the soil, yet at the scent of water, it will bud, and bring forth shoots like a plant’ I told him my point of view on those verses (an application of it, not it's literal context) and his response to me was “are you planning to fall or slip away from the way of the LORD?”. I smiled then narrated my experience with him, same experience I'll share in this post. It happened that during my housemanship, I got entangled with a guy and some events my dad didn’t endorse followed. I f

Over and Over

📸 SharonStephen Wow!! It’s been almost 6 months in here. Really, internship is so demanding ehn...well it’s almost over. Hope to resume writing again. I feel so delighted writing to you today. You know why? (drumrolls)🥁🥁 It’s my birthday💃 oya roll in your gifts o✌️ Well, I did not intend to write this here until yesterday, “someone needs it”, I was prompted . And here I am🤗   Over and over , again and again God is faithful Over and over, again and again Through it all, He’s made me able To stand and survive, to come through alive  When it looked like I couldn’t win Jesus is with me so I claim the victory Over and over again Since the beginning of this week, I just found myself singing and meditating on the lyrics of this song, 'over and over' by Jeff & Sheri Easter. I never knew the gravity of those words until I got into conversation with one of my senior colleagues. She said “you lost your blood sis…and you are still as lively as nothing happened” Well, I just smiled

SEASONS AND TIMES

Hellooooooooooo! I've really missed you, yes you... please forgive my long time break😔🤦. Special shout-out to Oiza, Emmanuel, Tamilore for the extra push to get this piece out on my blog ...you guys are the real g's. Yeah...let's dive in God works according to patterns and  principles: seasons are part of the pattern and there is purpose for each one.  A season’s length is most time determined by how long it takes to complete its purpose. (Ecce 3:1, 11) source: TIM.D A flower is beautiful in full bloom but before it reaches that point, it has to go through series of changes. First, it is an insignificant seed, then it germinates, then the roots grow; and a seedling pushes through the soil. So also, there are seasons of change God takes us through in order to develop and bring us into His full plan. -David spent a season in the wilderness; it developed him to be the King of Isreal -Jesus spent a season in the wilderness; it launched him into the fulfilment of His ministry

ALIYAH

"Aliyah!” Father thundered my name. I had barely gotten enough sleep since I was awake the whole night clearing the house.  Father had just been appointed as the Emir of the Jama’are Emirate and the celebration held the previous day. Source: Tim.D "Uba ina zuwa”, I responded as I dawdled to the sitting room. There, I saw fury on father’s face, Momma was just staring at me with a face full of worry. My heart skipped a beat. I had never seen Uba and Uwa in such moods. “What could have happened?”, I wondered. My sleepy eyes cleared up fast when father handed me a piece of paper. “What is the meaning of the rubbish written here?”, he snapped. Glancing through the paper, sweat from heaven knows where flooded my body. I remained speechless as I recalled how it all started. I was in the central mosque some months ago, memorizing some of the verses of the Al-Baqarah. I was on verse 255 when I heard a strange voice whisper “Jesus is the only true and living God”. Upon looking around

CONFORMITY

Image
Hiya💃🤗 Last weekend, as I sat in one of the chairs in my room replying my WhatsApp chats, I reflected through the so many contents/trends and challenges rampaging the social media space, my heart sunk for a while. What even ignited more spark within me was the fact that believers were ‘innocently’ or should I say ‘ignorantly’ participating in the trend. It dawned on me that I was also not spared. How could that be?  *Sighs*  Read on. Did you know that every day, you are faced with forces that competes for your attention and loyalty? In fact, it is either you are being conformed to the world or you are standing out for Christ in the world. Conformity to the world comes in two forms: -actively pursuing to belong/fit in -or passively and slowly compromising your beliefs The first, is to be drawn to the world in all its practices and be heads over heels about it that you begin to imitate. I remember when I recently got into junior school, I wanted to experience the independence and eupho

KASHAMADUPE

Oshey!! ✌️ 2020 is waving bye to us already...mehn! it’s been a year full of so much ups and downs but in all kashamadupe. Debhie and her hair😂😂 Things might not have gone the way you wanted, better still, if you were able to get through all your set goals, one thing is still important: GRATITUDE Gratitude changes our perspective, our feelings, our outlook about a situation (good/bad) but you know what? Gratitude is a choice We can choose to complain about a situation, focus on what we lack, wallow in self-pity, feel victimized or even blame others/ ourselves for our failures….but you know what again, it won’t change the circumstance.  Don’t get me wrong o. I am not insinuating that gratitude will come easily or naturally in a crisis. It’s easy to feel grateful for the good things. No one “feels grateful" that he or she has lost a loved one, job, home or good health. But it is vital to make a distinction between " feeling grateful " and " being grateful " bec
