Oshey!! ✌️ 2020 is waving bye to us already...mehn! it’s been a year full of so much ups and downs but in all kashamadupe.

Things might not have gone the way you wanted, better still, if you were able to get through all your set goals, one thing is still important: GRATITUDE

Gratitude changes our perspective, our feelings, our outlook about a situation (good/bad) but you know what? Gratitude is a choice

We can choose to complain about a situation, focus on what we lack, wallow in self-pity, feel victimized or even blame others/ ourselves for our failures….but you know what again, it won’t change the circumstance.

Don’t get me wrong o. I am not insinuating that gratitude will come easily or naturally in a crisis. It’s easy to feel grateful for the good things. No one “feels grateful" that he or she has lost a loved one, job, home or good health.

But it is vital to make a distinction between "feeling grateful" and "being grateful" because we do not have total control over our emotions. We cannot easily will ourselves to feel grateful, less depressed, or happy. Feelings follow from the way we look at the world, thoughts we have about the way things are, the way things should be, and the distance between these two points.

"Being grateful" provides a perspective from which we can view life in its entirety and not be overwhelmed by temporary circumstances. Yes, this perspective is hard to achieve but it can be achieved.

Remember, your goal is not to revive the experience but rather to get a new perspective on it.

Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus. Philippians 4:6-7

Look within and around you, what are you grateful for? It may even be as little as your smile☺️ or your hair.

I am grateful for the gift of you to me๐Ÿค—...Thank you for walking this 2020 with me. Yeah! Let's do more in 2021.

See ya in 2021๐Ÿ’ƒ๐Ÿ’ƒ

Love you,

Debhie.
