SEASONS AND TIMES

Image
Hellooooooooooo! I've really missed you, yes you... please forgive my long time breakπŸ˜”πŸ€¦. Special shout-out to Oiza, Emmanuel, Tamilore for the extra push to get this piece out on my blog ...you guys are the real g's. Yeah...let's dive in God works according to patterns and  principles: seasons are part of the pattern and there is purpose for each one.  A season’s length is most time determined by how long it takes to complete its purpose. (Ecce 3:1, 11) source: TIM.D A flower is beautiful in full bloom but before it reaches that point, it has to go through series of changes. First, it is an insignificant seed, then it germinates, then the roots grow; and a seedling pushes through the soil. So also, there are seasons of change God takes us through in order to develop and bring us into His full plan. -David spent a season in the wilderness; it developed him to be the King of Isreal -Jesus spent a season in the wilderness; it launched him into the fulfilment of His ministry ...

ALIYAH

Image
"Aliyah!” Father thundered my name. I had barely gotten enough sleep since I was awake the whole night clearing the house.  Father had just been appointed as the Emir of the Jama’are Emirate and the celebration held the previous day. Source: Tim.D "Uba ina zuwa”, I responded as I dawdled to the sitting room. There, I saw fury on father’s face, Momma was just staring at me with a face full of worry. My heart skipped a beat. I had never seen Uba and Uwa in such moods. “What could have happened?”, I wondered. My sleepy eyes cleared up fast when father handed me a piece of paper. “What is the meaning of the rubbish written here?”, he snapped. Glancing through the paper, sweat from heaven knows where flooded my body. I remained speechless as I recalled how it all started. I was in the central mosque some months ago, memorizing some of the verses of the Al-Baqarah. I was on verse 255 when I heard a strange voice whisper “Jesus is the only true and living God”. Upon looking around ...

CONFORMITY

Image
HiyaπŸ’ƒπŸ€— Last weekend, as I sat in one of the chairs in my room replying my WhatsApp chats, I reflected through the so many contents/trends and challenges rampaging the social media space, my heart sunk for a while. What even ignited more spark within me was the fact that believers were ‘innocently’ or should I say ‘ignorantly’ participating in the trend. It dawned on me that I was also not spared. How could that be?  *Sighs*  Read on. Did you know that every day, you are faced with forces that competes for your attention and loyalty? In fact, it is either you are being conformed to the world or you are standing out for Christ in the world. Conformity to the world comes in two forms: -actively pursuing to belong/fit in -or passively and slowly compromising your beliefs The first, is to be drawn to the world in all its practices and be heads over heels about it that you begin to imitate. I remember when I recently got into junior school, I wanted to experience the independence ...

KASHAMADUPE

Image
Oshey!! ✌️ 2020 is waving bye to us already...mehn! it’s been a year full of so much ups and downs but in all kashamadupe. Debhie and her hairπŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚ Things might not have gone the way you wanted, better still, if you were able to get through all your set goals, one thing is still important: GRATITUDE Gratitude changes our perspective, our feelings, our outlook about a situation (good/bad) but you know what? Gratitude is a choice We can choose to complain about a situation, focus on what we lack, wallow in self-pity, feel victimized or even blame others/ ourselves for our failures….but you know what again, it won’t change the circumstance.  Don’t get me wrong o. I am not insinuating that gratitude will come easily or naturally in a crisis. It’s easy to feel grateful for the good things. No one “feels grateful" that he or she has lost a loved one, job, home or good health. But it is vital to make a distinction between " feeling grateful " and " being grateful " bec...

A SON IS GIVEN

Image
Yayyy! It’s Christmas againπŸ’ƒπŸ’ƒ source: @theunidenticalduo You know why I love Christmas especially while growing up; there is always this mushy feeling everywhere, the keresimesi odun de carols, the lights, decorations, santa clus (well sha, na father christmas  i dey call am oπŸ˜…), the ‘Mary and Joseph’ stage play in school and yunno what? The new gown and koko shoe was the realllll deal😜. I even coined a name, I termed Christmas, “ odun kekere ” and new year, “ odun nla ” so that I could get my complete package for both celebrations. In fact, you need to see me rampaging with my promise cardπŸ˜‚. Oops! how can I forget my favourite, “ ina olorun ”. O-mooo!!! Childhood was lit o, the sweet memories it brings, makes me long for it again and again. But sha, the little girl is still growing and believes that the years to come will bring greater and sweeter experiences. Amin. Pretty more than all the parties, feastings, gifts, decos: this season should remind us of Christ’s birth on...

BUT GOD... YOU ARE THERE!

Image
Few days back, I lost a close family member and it hit me hard to my bones. Do you know why? Aside the bills, we’ve prayed, prayed and prayed. Then, when it looked like God had answered us, it turned out to be otherwise. The incident triggered sadder and sorrowful events I had formerly experienced. It brought a mix of emotions within me. Some questioned if God truly does answers prayer while some queried my faith. Amidst those thoughts, I kept hearing “my thoughts are good but my ways are not your ways” . “Are your ways to make us cry? Are your ways to make us go through so much adversities?” I broke down in tears. At times, we are faced with so much troubles, pain, sorrow, fears, insecurities that they begin to slowly challenge our faith and trust in Him who knows and have the best in mind for us. We begin to question if He is indeed faithful or even exist ( I’ve been there too ). This post is not to provide answers to your unanswered questions, I have a lot too ( but I’ve told GOD th...

RHE-MAA (The Unfolding)

Beloved, Trust you followed through the Scenes . If you haven’t, kindly click on the link πŸ‘†πŸ‘† to read it. Also, I will like to appreciate all who read, shared and commented. Thanks for the engagement. You know I love you right?πŸ˜‰πŸ€—πŸ€© Alrighhhht! Let’s keep the ink flowingπŸ’ƒ The two scenarios in the previous post were inspired by 2 Timothy 3:7 which reads, “Ever learning and never able to come to the knowledge of the truth”. I had come by the scripture aforetime but never really paid much attention to its detail until recently.  It pointed me to this generation of new age believers. We know so much but understand a little. I pondered on its possibility until I came to the realization that either of these πŸ‘‡πŸ‘‡πŸ‘‡πŸ‘‡ were deficient. - The Message (Source) Jesus acknowledged the word as the Truth (John 17:17). This means that anything that is different from the word of God is not and can never be truth.  Paul cautioned the brethren that they could become enslaved through philosophy...
